Why linen?
Linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant, one of the most low-impact crops in textile production. Flax requires little water, no irrigation in most climates, and minimal pesticides — and virtually every part of the plant is used, generating almost no waste.
The resulting fabric is strong, naturally antibacterial, and exceptionally breathable — making it one of the best warm-weather fibres available. Linen also softens beautifully with every wash, developing a relaxed, lived-in texture that synthetic fibres simply cannot replicate.
A fabric that improves with time
Unlike many fabrics that degrade with wear, linen gets better. It softens, drapes more beautifully, and becomes more comfortable the more it is worn and washed. A quality linen piece bought today should still be a wardrobe staple in ten years’ time.
Caring for linen
Machine wash at 30°C or 40°C on a gentle cycle. Linen can be tumble dried on low but is best line dried to reduce energy use and maintain the fabric’s structure. Iron while slightly damp on a medium-high setting, or embrace the natural texture — the relaxed look is very much part of linen’s appeal.
