Hemp: fashion’s most underrated fibre

Hemp has been cultivated for thousands of years and is among the most sustainable crops available. It grows rapidly without pesticides or synthetic fertilisers, requires very little water, and actually improves soil health through a process called phytoremediation. It also sequesters significant amounts of carbon during its growth cycle.

What to expect from hemp fabric

Pure hemp fabric has a natural, slightly textured handle that softens considerably with wear and washing. It is one of the most durable natural fibres — stronger than cotton and resistant to mould and UV degradation. Hemp also blended well with other fibres like organic cotton or TENCEL™, combining their properties into versatile, everyday-ready fabrics.

Caring for hemp

Machine wash at 30°C–40°C. Hemp is robust and improves with washing — it softens and becomes more supple over time. Line dry where possible. Iron on a medium-high setting while damp for a smooth finish, or leave the natural texture to do its thing.

The case for hemp
